The Advanced Computation Laboratory (ACLab) was established in 2012 at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, National Taiwan Ocean University, with only two seats under Dr. Yen’s laboratory (R601). In 2014, Dr. Tun-Wen Pai lent half of his laboratory space, allowing the ACLab to be established at R405. This lab currently comprises approximately 10 personnel who maintain a DeepSea 9 (DS9) computing cluster, whose primary task is to develop a super-system for monitoring and tracking Taiwan’s fisheries activities. Moreover, the big data and cloud computing capabilities of the DS9 cluster enable the analysis of fisheries-related data, aiding in stock assessment and environmental sustainability research. With the extension of projects, ACLab has established a mini-research center at A109, which is the core for large-scale high-speed oceanic data computation.<\/p>\n

The Advanced Computation Laboratory is located at A809 EECS building, National Taiwan Ocean University.<\/p>\n

Our research group is interested in the following disciplines:<\/p>\n

  1. Data science technology includes big data, visualization, machine learning, and data mining.<\/li>\n
  2. GPS tracking and remote sensing.<\/li>\n
  3. Environmental assessment, behavioral science, and resource estimation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
